Drive Mad is a physics driving game where acceleration is also a balance decision. Reaching the finish matters more than holding the throttle continuously. This guide covers Fancade’s original browser title on Poki, not similarly named sequels or unrelated driving games.

Drive Mad controls
In the documented desktop layout, Right moves forward and Left reverses or brakes. Touch players use the on-screen buttons. Follow a level’s prompt if it introduces a different vehicle or special interaction.
Why more speed is not always better
Each level combines a vehicle with obstacles and a finish to reach. The wheels and body react to the terrain, so entering an obstacle too quickly can leave the car tilted or flipped. An attempt can fail because of its approach long before the final collision happens.
Diagnose a failed landing
- Look at the approach. Did the car reach the jump level, already tilted, or bouncing?
- Separate distance from balance. A short landing needs a different adjustment from a long jump that overturns.
- Change the last input before take-off. Compare a brief release with continuous acceleration.
- Repeat the same route. Avoid changing several parts of the attempt when testing one landing.
A controlled retry is faster than a blind retry
Before restarting, name the failure in a few words: ‘too much speed at the crest’ or ‘front wheel caught the edge’. Choose one response and test it. If the same correction repeatedly makes the problem worse, return to the earlier approach rather than adding more mid-air inputs. This process is an editorial way to make attempts informative, not a promise that every obstacle has one universal solution.
Treat each vehicle as a new problem
The level design changes the relationship between throttle, body position and terrain. A technique that works on a stable flat section may be wrong for a tall or awkward vehicle. Spend the first attempt learning what reacts to your input. If you want a game focused on a repeating corner rhythm instead, try Drift Boss; if you enjoy short physics puzzles, stay with one Drive Mad obstacle until the cause of failure becomes clear.

Who created Drive Mad?
Poki credits Fancade for the original browser game covered here.
Why do I flip even when I reach the ramp?
Reaching it is only part of the problem. Try changing approach speed and body balance, not just pressing harder at the end.
